joanna baker FODMAP dietitian

Joanna Baker is a dietitian and registered nurse who loves food. Her passion for digestive health stems from a lifelong battle with of her own with IBS and food intolerance. This has taught her both how hard it is to live with an unpredictable gut and how life changing it can be when food sensitivities are well managed. Joanna now runs a dietitian practice in Melbourne, Australia called Everyday Nutrition, where her team of specialist dietitians help people with digestive problems to identify their triggers and make peace with food.

During her career, Joanna has worn many hats. In 2015, she stepped away from the hospital setting and jumped headfirst into IBS and food intolerance with post graduate training at Monash University in FODMAPs and Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Food chemical sensitivity. Since then, she’s worked in FODMAP testing at FODMAP Friendly as well as with food manufacturers who provide low FODMAP products. She has also lectured around Australia, Chicago and Dallas on the low FODMAP diet and regularly contributes to several publications including FODMAPPER magazine. Joanna is currently on the Food Allergy and Intolerance interest group with at Dietitians Australia and the Advisory board for the Master of Dietetics at Deakin university. Mostly though, she loves to work 1:1 with patient’s, supporting them to manage their IBS symptoms and learn to enjoy food again.
